Newport Carnival is returning for its Christmas Carnival Parade on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

Following feedback from 2019, last year we decided to have our parade take place on the first Saturday of December, instead of a week or two earlier in November.

Having spoken to local businesses, we are keen to bring people to Newport town centre at the start of December, after payday, to help keep those local businesses on the map!

That is why, for the second year running, we are holding our event on the first Saturday of the month.

Our Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday 3rd December 2022 at 17:00 from Church Litten.

Participants are asked to form up at Church Litten from 16:15 (the road will be closed at this time – access remains open to supermarkets and petrol station) with judging taking place from 16:30.

The parade will commence at 17:00 and cascade its way through the town ending at the Quay.

The route is as follows… Left out of Church Litten into South Street, right into St James’ Street, left into Pyle Street, right into High Street, left into Quay Street before turning onto The Quay and finishing.

Anyone can take part, please get in contact with the team.

There are various businesses around the town that are also staying open late to support this up-and-coming event. So please, if you can, come and support us and those local businesses in and around Newport this Christmas.

Would you like to download one of our Printable Posters?

We would be grateful if you’d download a poster and display it in your shop window, add it to your school newsletters, and share it with your friends and families… However, it maybe, Let’s Support Local This Christmas…

There are two versions of the poster, one in Full Colour like above, and a second for an ink-friendly version (basically without the blue background!)
